Opening an account with finpension is very easy. Click on the following link and then on “REGISTER NEW”:

Copy linkMobile view: Swipe the portfolios to the left until you get to the page where it says “Open another portfolio”.
Desktop view: Next to the portfolio in the upper left corner you will find a text in red letters “Open portfolio +”. Click on this link to open another portfolio.
By the way: From a tax perspective, each portfolio is considered a separate account and can be obtained separately (3a and vested benefits).
Copy linkYou can open up to five portfolios per foundation (finpension 3a Pension Foundation, finpension Vested Benefits Foundation, finpension Vested Benefits Foundation II). In contrast, the finpension 1e collective foundation can only ever offer one portfolio per insured person for legal reasons.
You can even open up to 10 portfolios in the investment solution for free assets not tied up in pension provision.

We have been offering a cash solution for pensions since 1 October 2024. You can choose from two options:
- Option 1: Select the investment form Account (100 % cash)
- Option 2: Select the investment form Securities and the investment focus Individual (1 – 100 % cash)
If you have already opened the account, you can change the cash portion by going to the strategy in the portfolio and clicking on ‘Change strategy’.
Free assets
Unfortunately, we have to disappoint you. We are currently unable to offer you a pure account solution in our investment solution.
However, we offer an alternative to cash in the form of money market funds. On these pages you will find the money market funds that you can use (under the ‘Cash’ asset class):
- Invest wealth: https://finpension.ch/en/invest/strategies/fund-list/
With a customised investment strategy, you can determine the share of the money market fund in the overall portfolio individually, for example by gradually increasing or reducing it.
Copy linkYou can change the strategy on the portfolio at any time. To do this, select the corresponding portfolio and click on the strategy and then on “Change strategy”.
Copy linkYou can change your strategy at any time. Your portfolio will be adjusted to the new strategy on the rebalancing or trading day. The rebalancing day is on the second bank working day of the week.
Copy linkThis is probably because your money has not been invested yet. You can get more information about when your money is invested here: https://finpension.ch/en/app-features/how-to/when-can-you-make-a-strategy-change-and-when-is-it-implemented/
Copy linkThe investment strategies offered by the pension foundations can be implemented with different fund houses.
Go to the portfolio, then to the strategy > change strategy to change the fund house. The question about the fund house is asked subsequently to the selection of the investment focus.
PS: You can recognise your current fund house on the strategy by the small logo at the top right of the strategy card.
Copy linkTo do this, go to the portfolio, click on the strategy and then on the «Change strategy» button. Then select the investment focus «Individual».
Then you will get to the page where you can customize the strategy.
PS: We can currently only offer the crypto fund in the pension plan, but not in the investment solution for free assets.

Because we like to make your life easier, we provide you with this tax statement free of charge – something that is not a matter of course, as a comparison with other Moneyland providers shows.
Copy linkYou can find the tax certificate for your payments into the finpension 3a Retirement Savings Foundation here:
https://app.finpension.ch/documents/tax-certificates?universe=3a
We will inform you by e-mail each time a new tax certificate is available.
Please note that we cannot issue tax certificates for deposits made with another provider and later transferred to us. For such deposits, you must ask the previous provider for a certificate.
Copy linkThere is no tax certificate for vested benefits. Pension assets do not have to be declared in the tax return in Switzerland.
Copy linkYou can find the tax certificates of your voluntary purchases into the finpension 1e collective foundation here:
https://app.finpension.ch/1e/voluntary-purchase?universe=1e
Note: You will not receive a tax certificate if you have not made any voluntary purchases in the past year. Pension assets do not have to be listed in the list of assets in the tax return in Switzerland.

To do this, go to the portfolio. In the mobile view, you must expand the portfolio. Then click on “Performance details”. There you can then generate a performance report in PDF form. In the desktop view of the app, you will find the function for downloading the performance report at the top right of the portfolio table.

Copy linkAs long as the portfolio has not yet been used (it does not yet contain any transactions), you can delete the portfolio yourself. To do this, click on the three horizontal or vertical dots at the top right of the portfolio. Various functions will then be displayed, including the “Delete portfolio” function.
Copy linkYou can delete your finpension account or an individual finpension product on your own in the app. To do so, go to the profile (top right). There you should see a corresponding function to remove the product or delete the account.
Because we have a retention obligation, you can only delete products or the entire finpension account if there are no transactions yet. Please contact us if you would like us to deactivate your login.
Copy linkOn the right side of the portfolio you will see a navigation with three horizontal or vertical dots. Click on it and you will see the function «Pay out portfolio» or «Enter payment» at the very bottom.
For the 1e collective foundation, you will find the forms for early withdrawals under “Documents”. You will find the icon for documents at the very top right of the app.
Not found? Then proceed as follows: Go to the dashboard in the finpension app. Then click on the 1e collective foundation. Now you will see an icon for documents at the top right. There you will find the forms, among other things.
Copy linkIn principle, you cannot withdraw only part of a pension portfolio; you must always withdraw the entire portfolio.
However, there is one exception, namely the withdrawal for residential property. For owner-occupied residential property, you can also withdraw only part of a pension portfolio.
