Minimum interest rate
The BVG minimum interest rate is set by the Federal Council and is currently 1.25 percent.
The BVG minimum interest rate is the minimum interest rate that must be paid on the accumulated retirement savings. The minimum interest rate only applies to the mandatory part of the occupational benefit plan. There are no specifications in the supplementary pension plan. Here, the pension funds can decide for themselves what the interest rate is. However, it cannot be negative, as the pension funds must guarantee at least the contributions that have been paid in.
