We’ll show you how to open a vested benefits account or switch an existing account to finpension in just a few minutes. Opening a vested benefits account is easy with the finpension vested benefits foundation.

Table of contents

1. open a vested benefits account
2. transfer pension fund / switch vested benefits account

1. open a vested benefits account: Register with the finpension vested benefits foundation

To open a vested benefits account with finpension, you must first register with finpension. You can register with us in two ways:

  • Either via the finpension app on your smartphone,
  • or via the web app on your browser.

Tip: When you leave the pension fund, you can have your vested benefits paid out to two different vested benefits institutions (so-called splitting). This has certain advantages. However, pension fund splitting is only possible when you leave the pension fund. Later, for example if the money is in a vested benefits account, it can no longer be split (exception: WEF-Vorbezug). It can still be transferred to another provider, but only in the form of the entire balance.

Would you like to make use of pension fund splitting? Then click on + Add product after registering with the first vested benefits foundation and select Vested Benefits Foundation II. You will then have opened two securities accounts, one with the finpension Vested Benefits Foundation and one with the finpension Vested Benefits Foundation II.

I am already a finpension client; how can I open a vested benefits account?

Existing customers can add the vested benefits solution in the app on the dashboard by clicking on the red “+ Add product” link.

2. transfer pension fund / switch vested benefits account: complete transfer form and send by post

Have you registered? Then we will automatically send you a transfer form by e-mail. Alternatively, you can also download the form in the app. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Log in to the app.
  2. On the dashboard, click on the product «Vested benefits foundation» or, if applicable, «Vested benefits foundation II», which you read about in the tip above.
  3. You are now on the portfolio. There you will see the «TRANSFER» button. Click on this button and you will be on the page where you can download the transfer form.

Now print out the form. If you do not have a printer or have run out of ink, we will be happy to send you the transfer form by post. Complete the passages highlighted below and sign the form. Now all you have to do is send the form to your previous pension fund (pension fund or vested benefits foundation) and nothing stands in the way of your transfer.

Unfortunately, it is still not possible to transfer pension assets completely digitally. This is not due to us, but to the other foundations and pension funds, which require physical and original signed receipts in order to balance pension accounts and transfer them to another provider.

As soon as we register an inflow of funds from your previous pension fund or vested benefits foundation, we will credit this to your portfolio and inform you by e-mail.

Transfer form by post – the additional service from finpension

To make it as easy as possible for you to transfer your vested benefits, we can also send you the transfer form by post on request. You will also receive a pre-franked envelope from us so that you can conveniently forward the transfer form to your previous vested benefits institution.

3. we will notify you as soon as the money has arrived

As soon as we have received the transferred credit, we will credit it to your vested benefits portfolio. We will also notify you immediately by e-mail.

Is the transfer taking longer than you expected? Check with your previous provider. Sometimes there are notice periods that must be observed. Or it may take longer for other reasons.
