Conversion rate
To calculate the annual BVG old-age pension, the old-age savings accumulated in the pension fund are multiplied by the conversion rate. The minimum conversion rate in the BVG compulsory pension scheme is currently 6.8 percent. An annual pension of CHF 6’800 thus results from CHF 100,000 of retirement assets. The minimum conversion rate of 6.8 percent applies to the ordinary AHV retirement age of 64 years for women and 65 years for men. The conversion rate is reduced in the event of early retirement. If you work beyond the AHV retirement age, the conversion rate is higher.
